Chunks Practice: Car Crash

Police spokesman Herman Wong told a press conference today:

“An accident occurred. It happened yesterday. It was a car accident. It happened in Pasir Panjang where South Buona Vista Road and Pasir Panjang Road intersect. One person was killed. Two people and a dog were injured. The dog was a daschund.

“The person was John Frazier, a citizen of the United States. He lived in Pasir Panjang at 12 Pasir Panjang Hill and was a resident of Singapore.

“Frazier had been living in Singapore for four years, and had visited several nearby countries.

“According to witnesses he was driving southeast on Pasir Panjang Road at about 5 p.m. The car was a Mercedes with red stripes. He lost control of the car. It was raining, and the road was wet. He was also driving about 20 mph over the speed limit.

“He was the only one in the car. The car smashed into a utility pole. The impact crushed the whole front of the car. Frazier was thrown through the car’s windshield. He landed on the pavement some 20 feet away.

“The area is home to a number of bars and restaurants. There is also a Cold Storage and an ATM machine in the nearby village center.

“He wasn’t wearing a seat belt. He was killed instantly.

“The two injured people were pedestrians walking the dog. The two suffered light bruises. The dog suffered a fractured leg.

“Frazier was 47 years old and the Asia Pacific director of U.S. investment bank Hogawny Flinch.  He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

“This is the fourth such accident to happen on this stretch of road in the past eight months. This, however, is the first fatality in the area since 1997.”
