PC Suite: How to Install Software on Your Phone

The easiest way to install software on your phone is by text message. But this is not always available. Another option is via your mobile phone browser, but it’s sometimes a bit fiddly.

If you’ve already got Nokia PC Suite installed, then this is probably the easiest way. (See How to Connect Your Phone to a Computer)

Once you’ve downloaded the application to your computer, and remembered where you’d saved it to, open PC Suite and connect your phone.

In the program, click on the install applications button:

The application will load.

In the left hand panel of the program, click through until you find the directory your program is in:

The file will end in .sis and have a little green and blue icon next to it:

Make sure the right hand column – My Phone — shows the phone and the phone memory as the destination:

Now click on the file on the left column you want to move:

Then click on the arrow in the middle, between the two columns:

A window should appear telling you to finish the installation on the phone:

Follow the instructions on the phone (they’ll be different with each application.)

Your software is now installed on the phone.
