How To Send SMS Messages From Your Computer

Some people like writing SMS text messages on their phone, but I hate it. Here is one way to avoid it.

If you’re using a Nokia (and the same is probably true of non-Nokia phones) connect to your computer using the provided Nokia PC Suite software and cable. (If you don’t have either, download the suite here and, in most cases, use an ordinary USB cable with the smaller standard end.

When the two devices are connected, a list of options will appear on your phone. select PC Suite mode:

Once your phone is connected, launch the Suite on your computer:

Double-click the Contacts option.

An Explorer window will load with the list of your contacts:

Right click on the person you want to send a text message to and select New Message, and then Text Message

A window will appear with the phone number already in the To field:

You can add extra recipients by clicking on the To button.

Type your message in the message box below and hit the Send button:

Once the message is gone you’ll receive a notification:

You can reply to incoming messages by selecting the Inbox in the same Explorer window that you opened your Contacts list in:

Right click on the message you want to reply to and select Message and then Reply:
